Thank you for your interest in working at Kimball Camp YMCA. Since our first summer in 1938, we have been helping children grow into confident adults while giving the staff an opportunity to develop skills and experiences that will help them both personally and professionally.
At Kimball Camp YMCA, we have high expectations of our staff. Our mission is to put Christian faith and principles into practice through programs that build healthy body, mind, and spirit for all in an environment that fosters a wholesome relationship between man and God's creation.

Seasonal employment (April - May) and (August - November) working 3 - 7 days a week.
Kimball Camp YMCA is looking for recent graduates to fill our positions (4) as Outdoor Education Instructors. The position is available to all majors, but I believe is ideal for Biology majors, all Education majors, or Fitness and Recreation Programming majors. Outdoor Education Instructors teach three classes per day from a selection of Natural Science, Adventure Education, or Living History options that the particular schools choose from. OE Instructors receive training to teach many of the 20 class options from our curriculum. OE Instructors may have to work some nights leading camp recreational activities (no overnights). The Outdoor Education Season runs from April – June and September – November. To “bridge” the two seasons, opportunities are available in leadership positions during our Summer Camp Season (June-August) as Waterfront Director, Day Camp Director, Camp Nurse, and others. Pay range is $200/wk + meals while working. For more information, contact Quinn Kirner, Program Director, at 517-283-2168.
The summer staff consists of about 10 counselors and six support staff ages 18 and up. We also have about 20 Counselors-in-Training throughout the summer. Being a counselor at Kimball Camp YMCA is a great and rewarding experience. You will be challenged daily as you help keep campers safe, learn new things, and become a better person.
Kimball Camp YMCA is looking for mature, enthusiastic, and flexible camp counselors. A good candidate should have skills in the at least one of the following areas:
Arts & Crafts: General arts & crafts, painting, drawing, and sketching
Drama/Theater: Acting in, directing, and creating skits.
Land Sports: Basketball, soccer, softball, baseball, volleyball, archery, riflery, etc.
