Seasonal employment (April - May) and (August - November) working 3 - 7 days a week.

Kimball Camp YMCA is looking for recent graduates to fill our positions (6) as Outdoor Education Instructors. The position is available to all majors, but directed towards Biology majors, Education majors, or Fitness and Recreation Programming majors. Outdoor Education Instructors teach multiple classes each day from a selection of Natural Science, Adventure Education, or Living History options that visiting schools choose from. OE Instructors receive training to teach many of the 20+ class options from our curriculum. This position does include working most nights leading camp recreational activities (no overnights). The Outdoor Education Season runs from April – June and September – November. To “bridge” the two seasons, opportunities are available in leadership positions during our Summer Camp Season (June-August) as Waterfront Director, Day Camp Director, Health Officer, and more. The summer staff consists of approximately 10 counselors and six support staff members all aged 18 and up. We also have approximately 10 Counselors-in-Training throughout the summer who are between the ages of 14 and 17. Being a counselor at Kimball Camp YMCA is a great and rewarding experience. You will be challenged daily as you help keep campers safe, learn new things, and become a better person.

We are looking for mature, enthusiastic, and flexible camp counselors. A good candidate should have skills in the at least one of the following areas and be willing to learn about others:

Arts & Crafts: General arts & crafts, painting, drawing, and sketching
Drama/Theater: Acting in, directing, and creating skits.
Land Sports: Basketball, soccer, softball, baseball, volleyball, archery, riflery, etc.
Outdoor Adventure: Canoeing, kayaking, hiking, etc.
Ropes: Low and high elements, belaying, and team building. All staff will receive some ropes training.
Swimming: Instruction and lifeguarding. We will have lifeguard training available if you would like to become certified or would like to renew your training through the Red Cross.
Nature: Willing
 to handle snakes and other animals, fishing, boating, etc.

Kitchen Staff - One of the most rewarding jobs you can do! There is no better feeling than having a child tell you how much they enjoyed their breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Seeing their smiling faces each day and getting to know them is such a blessing. You would be responsible for cooking meals, washing dishes, keeping the kitchen clean, following all health department guidelines in a fun and relaxing environment. Housekeeping Staff - If you enjoy keeping things clean and tidy then this is the job for you! Kids sure can make a mess and we need someone with a cheerful attitude to clean up after them. Hours are flexible and position can be year round. You would be responsible for cleaning bathrooms, dining hall, main lodge, laundry areas, lodge bedrooms, and other various places as necessary.
