What Teachers and Groups Are Saying About Kimball Camp YMCA
October 25, 2012
Dear Kimball Camp Staff,
Thank you for another fabulous camp experience. I have been bringing my 5th graders to Kimball Camp every fall for ten years and have coordinated the camp trip for our entire grade level (400 students) for the past five years. Saline Area Schools is never disappointed with the efforts made by your staff to ensure a positive, healthy, energetic and educational environment for our students.
Your entire staff, from the camp director to the cleaning crew, the office staff as well as the meal providers do absolutely everything they can to ensure our happiness and meet our ever-changing needs. Your kind spirits and willingness to work together to coordinate an atmosphere where each camper is comfortable and feels safe enough to challenge themselves is impressive.
Our students walk away from this outdoor educational experience with a confidence they don’t always possess in the classroom. As a teacher, I build on the self-esteem they earn at camp and can often push my students to try more difficult tasks in the classroom due to their accomplishments at Kimball Camp.
Our parents are forever grateful that their child has had this experience and make comments such as, “She said those were the best three days of her life,” and, “I have never heard her talk as much as she has over the past two days, telling us every detail about the fun she had at camp.” Even students that were leery about joining us at camp reported they “had a great time at camp and would go again tomorrow if they had the chance.”
Thank you, once again, for all of your efforts. Saline Area Schools could not be happier with the experience you provide our students, parents and staff year after year. It is truly the experience of a lifetime!

Dear Staff,
I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay for our winter camp out on Feb.4-5, 2012. We had 6 girls, 4 boys, and 5 fathers. The weather was warm in the 40s for February, too warm for winter activities. You provided other activities, the rock climbing wall (Goliath), Archery and night hike, which made the camp out a success without snow. The staff was cheerful and helpful. The food was plentiful and good. The cabins, lodge, and restrooms were clean and warm.

"Camp was Epic!" one of my students wrote about his fall 2012 Kimball Camp experience. I felt his description was an exact exclamation of our fifth grade camp experience. The reason that my students had such an unforgettable experience at Kimball was because the staff were "kids first." First of all, the camp staff made certain the children were Safe. Next to safety, the counselors' other goal was to make the students' time exciting, fun and memorable. The staff keep improving year after year, creating great outdoor experiences.
I am certain that my students learned so many valuable lessons about themselves. Back from camp, they are already showing increased confidence in themselves after overcoming numerous challenges. they are closer to their classmates and their teachers due to the team-building events.
The Kimball Camp memories, my fifth grade students will have for the rest of their lives, are priceless.
Thank You,

Hi,
I just wanted to take a minute to tell you once again what a wonderful experience we had at camp this year. The staff went over and above in every possible way to make our experience so positive. From the activities staff and the kitchen staff to the facilities staff, everyone went out of their way to make our stay terrific.
We also appreciate all of the extra effort with our little Katie. From having the golf cart available for us to use, to Tyler dancing with her and teaching her the Virginia Reel, to rigging up a special harness to hoist her to the zip line. You did not have to spend as much time and effort as you did to make sure she was able to participate in everything! She will always remember this special experience, and her family will be forever grateful!
Thanks for everything! I will talk to you in the spring!
