Thank you for your interest in working at Kimball Camp YMCA. Since our first summer in 1938, we have been helping children grow into confident adults while giving the staff an opportunity to develop skills and experiences that will help them both personally and professionally.

Outdoor Education
Seasonal Employment (March - November) working 3-5 days/week teaching Environmental Education Classes; Living History Classes; and/or Adventure Education Courses.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Teach 3 two-hour classes/day, using Kimball Camp Curriculum. Classes may include: Forest Study; Animal Habitats; Water/Soil Conservation; Lake Ecology; Pioneers and Settlers; (paid training is required)
2. Adventure Education Instructors facilitate the use of our Teambuilding Course; High Ropes Course; 40 ft tall climbing tower. Ensure the safe operation of those elements. (Paid on-site training is required)
3. Help supervise the dining hall for camper meals. (meals are included).
Ensure that each student has a quality, fun, learning experience while at camp.

Summer Camp
The summer staff consists of about 10 counselors and 6 support staff ages 18 and up. We also have about 15 Counselors in Training throughout the summer. Being a counselor at Kimball Camp YMCA is a great and rewarding experience. You will be challenged daily as you help keep campers safe, learn new things, and become a better person.
Kimball Camp YMCA is looking for mature, enthusiastic and flexible camp counselors. A good candidate should have skills in the at least one of the following areas:
Arts & Crafts: General Arts & Crafts, Painting, Drawing, and Sketching
Drama/Theater: We do lots of skits throughout the summer.
Land Sports: Basketball, Soccer, Softball, Baseball, Volleyball, Archery, Riflery
Outdoor Adventure: Canoeing, Kayaking, Hiking
Photography: We have a clinic on photography.
Ropes: Low and High Elements, Belaying, and Team Building. All staff will receive ropes training.
Swimming: Instruction, Lifeguarding. We will have Lifeguard Training available if you would like to become certified or renew your training.
Nature: Able to Handle Snakes and other Animals, Fishing, Boating
