The following items are currently needed by Kimball Camp YMCA Nature Center for use in their programs.  If you would like to donate either the material item or make a monetary donation to cover the purchase price, we would greatly appreciate it.  All donations are tax-deductible and a receipt will be sent directly to you.

Thank you for helping us to make a difference!

Please click on the links to see the actual item(s) we are looking for:

Binoculars (Qty: 20)

We are looking for good quality, waterproof binoculars for use with our stargazing and bird-watching environmental programs.  These binoculars will be primarily used for the Outdoor Environmental Education program, but will also be available to Summer Camp and Retreat Groups.  (Price:  Currently $19.99 per pair.)

Cross-Country Skis (Qty: 100)

Kimball Camp YMCA is starting a new cross-country ski program for use with its Winter Camp and Outdoor Environmental Education programs.  We are looking for new or used cross-country skis, poles, bindings and boots.  Help us teach students a new and healthy way to get outside in the winter and to explore the beauty of the natural world!  We have already received over 20 sets of skis through donors in our community.  Please help us to reach our target goal of 100 sets so that we can have an adequate size range for our participants!  (Price:  To purchase a new set is a total of $249.00 per set.  This set includes skis, poles, boots and bindings.)

Field Microscopes (Qty: 10)

Also new to the Outdoor Environmental Education programs this year is Aquatic Ecology.  The goal of this class is to teach students about the macroscopic and microscopic creatures that live in bodies of water and how they can be used to judge the health of an ecosystem.  These are the basic "field" microscopes that will be carried by student groups during the class.  (Price:  Currently $20.01 per microscope.)

Flint and Steel Kits (Qty: 20)

We want to teach the children about the "old days".  These flint and steel kits will be used in almost every program we offer, from Summer Camp to Teambuilding!  Our primary use will be for the historical reenactment courses of Outdoor Environmental Education, with literally thousands of children trying their hand at a traditional skill.  (Price:  Currently $15.00 per kit.)

Lab Microscopes (Qty: 2)

We are looking for two high-powered microscopes to use in our Nature Center.  These microscopes will be available to all groups, but will be used primarily for the Outdoor Environmental Education program and Nature Study in Summer Camp.  (Price:  Currently $398.99 per microscope.)

Lorax Set (Qty: 1)

One of our exciting new programs for Outdoor Environmental Education is also one of our best community-outreach programs!  The "Lorax", based on the Dr. Seuss book, is a full puppet show, complete with Truffula Trees and even Swammee Swans!  This program, designed for youth of all ages, is created to be done both at Kimball Camp and as a traveling show to area schools and other youth-oriented organizations.  This program presents a powerful message of nature conservancy in a hilarious, interactive format.  (Price:  The cost for the entire "Lorax" set, including props and books is approximately $400.00.)
