Kimball Camp YMCA Nature Center has an
exciting,
fun-filled summer awaiting you! Campers will have the opportunity to climb to new heights on
Goliath, our 40-foot climbing tower or increase their self-esteem and
team-building skills on our Ropes Courses!
The
rich camp traditions of 70 years influence current programming at Kimball
Camp YMCA Nature Center. Once campers arrive, they begin to realize they are
part of a community linked together by common experiences. Through exciting summer programs emphasizing the values
of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, Kimball Camp YMCA strives
to help your child grow spiritually, mentally and physically. |
Making
new friends and building on renewed friendships are high points of the
camping experience. Kimball Camp offers a wide variety of activities
that build confidence and cooperation. Each camping session is divided
into units for different age levels. Younger campers are guided through a
variety of experiences; older campers choose between specialized,
progressive challenges.

Safety
-
All activities are
well-supervised by trained Program staff and Counselors that have
certification in First Aid, CPR, and, in the case of aquatic activities,
Lifeguarding.
-
Campers are taught
proper care and respect for each other, nature and equipment.
-
Proper safety
equipment is provided for adventure activities.
-
Watercraft
activities always require the wearing of lifejackets.
The well-being of each child
is our first concern.
Kimball Camp YMCA Housing
The
center of the Kimball Camp experience is each group of 12-14 campers and two
counselors. Younger campers stay in cabins with bunk-beds, electricity and a
ceiling fan. Bathrooms and shower facilities are conveniently located
in another building close to the cabins.
Our New Adventure campers sleep in
shelters, three season enclosed buildings with curtains and screens.
Each New Adventurer unit features a central bonfire pit, clotheslines and
meeting area. Modern bathhouses are located within walking distance of
the shelters.
Our
Leaders In Training program participants stay in the Thunderbird Ridge, a
modern building with two bunkhouse-style wings that sleeps 24 total.
Personal bathrooms are attached to each side of the Ridge, featuring all of
the modern conveniences.
Kimball
Camp YMCA Nature Center is open for all children, regardless of race, creed,
age, handicap or national origin. Registration will be processed by
mail, fax or in person and must be accompanied by a $75.00 deposit to hold a
spot. No telephone registrations will be processed. Fax copies will only
be accepted with a credit card number included for the deposit.
Program Accessibility
To
ensure a positive experience, select a camping program that is best for your
child. Please let Kimball Camp YMCA know if you or your child has a
disability requiring an accommodation. This information enables the YMCA to
better meet the needs of your child, within available resources and to the
extent reasonable.
We
believe everyone should be able to participate in YMCA programs. Based on
available resources, the YMCA provides financial assistance through the
generous donations of those in our community. Campers who need
financial assistance are encouraged to participate in the annual
Candy Sale
before contacting us for aid. (Preference is given to campers who
attempt to earn their way to camp.) Applications for financial aid are
available by
emailing us or calling the Kimball Camp office.
