News and Events

Day Camp offers children the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities: Pioneer living, water play, arts and crafts, exploring, environmental education, hiking, boating, outdoor cooking, recreational swimming, singing, dramatics, cooperative group games, and archery.  Campers are also provided with lunch and an afternoon snack.

At Kimball Camp YMCA, the Day Camp program is divided into age-based units to ensure a progression of experiences throughout each year they attend.  You are invited to join us for a fun-filled summer at Kimball Day Camp!  Whether you sign up for one week or the whole summer, you will have a great time!

Program Goals

  • Develop skills in children that will allow them to build positive relationships with others, encouraging cooperation, nonviolence and respect for all people.

  • Develop character in young people through teaching and demonstrating the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

  • Give children progressive opportunities for fun and adventure which are both challenging and rewarding.

  • Give young people opportunities to accept responsibility, develop leadership skills and give service to others.

  • Encourage creativity and resourcefulness through activities that develop young people’s imagination and desire for adventure.

  • Increase knowledge, respect and appreciation for the natural environment.

  • Provide children with responsible adult role models who demonstrate values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Financial Assistance

We believe everyone should be able to participate in YMCA programs. Based on available resources, the YMCA provides financial assistance through the generous donations of those in our community.  Campers who need financial assistance are encouraged to participate in the annual Candy Sale before contacting us for aid.  (Preference is given to campers who attempt to earn their way to camp.)  Applications for financial aid are available by emailing us or calling the Kimball Camp office.
